Descension

Earth wanes on the melting horizon
the curving moon smirks as it sinks
beyond vision holding rays with planets
over the watching cacti.

Even the desert sun, a star among stars
flares in flaming delight descending
into the chanting gray mountains
who receive it wildly

As stars above the rim of dwindling light
flicker to life in the glimmering void
always there every day, yet we see them not.

But they are there, though our faith falters
falling ceaselessly into the realm of eternal change
changing change; change changing
reborn on Earth as in Heaven...
